Big Three The Big Three: Left to right, Terry Beebe, Phil Harmon (seated), and Steve Harmon, in better times.
Model A Mature student, with auto. Phil Harmon poses by his replica Model A, with schoolbooks for his individualized degree completion program at George Fox College, circa 1982.
Commencement day Commencement Day: Phil and Steve Harmon, graduation day, 1982, George Fox College.
Scene of the crimes The Scene of the Crimes. Harmon's office in Stanwood, Washington.
Home Sweet Home Home, Sweet Home -- or, "Where Did Your Money, go, Grandma?" A view of Puget Sound, from near the Harmon compound. (It's actually a prettier view, but it was raining hard the day I visited.)
Harmon House Harmon House, the gateway.
Main house The main house; the deck is on the other side, overlooking the water.
Pool house The Pool House, next to the main house. Note the wide driveway. It's needed for the next item --
Two-storey, four-car garage The two-story, four-car garage. Phil needed a lot of garage space, with all the "hobby cars" around. This garage was only the beginning.
Sixteen-bay garage A sixteen-bay garage facility near Camano, which Phil used for additional auto storage.
1952 Mark VII Jaguar A 1952 Mark VII Jaguar, parked at the Camano Closet, a rental-storage property Phil owned. Phil's property list for bankruptcy listed a 1952 Jaguar.
Camano Chapel The Church that Laid the Golden Eggs. Camano Chapel, where Phil attended and Steve was Chairman of the Board. They fleeced the pastor, the school fund, and a host of the members.
Taco Time The Taco Time fast-food place in Stanwood, which Steve owned and where Esther Harmon worked after the crash. Note the empty lot around it, in mid-day. Informed sources said it was being informally boycotted by local citizens.
Wall of silence The Wall of Silence. Headquarters of NorthWest Yearly Meeting, where a multimillion dollar swindle of some of its key members by a lifelong, key member did not even warrant a mention on the floor of its 1997 sessions. As one veteran investigator said, "there's something very secretive down there."
Dave Pinkham On the Case: Dave Pinkham, Editor-Publisher of the Stanwood-Camano News, which has covered the Harmon case from the beginning.
