As is our house . . .in the daytime . . .but — to my knowledge, no one has taken advantage of it in that way .. . .though the ladies at Prayer Group where shocked when I told them.
The only time people have taken anything from us, are people we had hired to do odd jobs, and they came back and helped themselves . . .and it was only twice .. .and they were easily retrievable — both of the people they ‘sold’ them to were skeptical . . and we’ve been here 46 years.
My son had someone try and take his Saturn, and they got the key thingy out so they could start the car, but didn’t know how to do two-foot driving . . .had probably never seen a clutch. 🙂
A beautiful commentary on using the meetinghouses God gives us. We often call a house of worship “God’s House.” How fitting that God’s house would be open for God’s children to find refuge.
I think it’s wonderful that the meeting house is open and a homeless person was able to rest and take care of their personal needs.
The Episcopal church I attend keeps the sanctuary open 24/7 but, unfortunately, the bathroom is not accessible from there due to previous, unfortunate incidents.
I hope your meeting can remain open.
