In The Yard: An Inflection Point

This was the scene In The Yard last weekend:

Soon the temperature began to drop, and by Thursday . . .

The house next door- first, above freezing
Below it, serious frost on the roof this morning

And In The Yard, after the frost . . .
Where did the flowers go?

Here are a few . .

A zinnia that was red a few days ago . . .

Droopy dried roses . . .

Somehow, many of these still have an appeal

A frosty rose . . . These bushes are survivors . . .

And spring is coming . . .

  1. gaah, the cold weather coming is to me like a mountain I have to climb for the next six months, and I am just looking at the foothills. sigh

  2. This is why the Lord invented seasons….. The “faith” that “this too shall pass”. As the great sports coach (you pick) said, “wait’ll next year…”

  3. The apples, cherries and other fruits need the frost in order to set fruit. Best to find a way to enjoy the cold.
